About the Project
This website is the culmination of a capstone project I worked on during my senior year at Stony Brook University. I didn't grow up around any farms coming from a suburb in Cleveland. However, I discovered that the roots of the farming tradition on Long Island run deep. Long Island is unique in that while farmland has slowly diminished over the decades, farming can still thrive off of the locals, restaurants and business that continue to show a devotion to the distinct tastes this region has to offer
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Nicole Sims graduated from Stony Brook University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in journalism, and concentration in broadcast journalism. Nicole has developed a passion for finding compelling stories, capturing footage and editing video. She hopes to become a future producer, and will continue to pursue her education in production.
